Let me introduce myself. My name is Kendra Headen Gaffney and I am the founder and principle auctioneer of K. Headen Auctioneers. Our first auction was held August 28th. 2009.

Whenever people ask me "How did you get into the auction business"? My answer is always the same,,, The auction business and royalty have a lot in common,, you are usually born into it!

The same year I was born, my father, Whitey Headen, decided to get his principle auctioneers license. I started out at the age of three as a ticket runner for the Main Auction Company getting paid in Hershey bars. As the years went on, my father had worked at many auction houses as well as his independent auction company Whitey Headen Auctioneers. I was never far behind. As of now, I have done every job in the Auction business except cashier(everyone that knows me, knows I could never sit still that long).

In 2002, I finally decided to get my apprentice auctioneers license. I apprenticed under my father and attended classes taught by Fred Barrett. Within 3 weeks of making that decision, I was calling my first sale at W.D. Auction. I can't tell you how happy I am to have found such a wonderful location in Nicholasville, Ky. We now have a 12,000sq.ft. location to server you better.

You will see many familiar faces at K. Headen Auctioneers as well as some new ones. Our list of associates include: Dell Headen, John Ballard, Phil Vest, Cassie Marksberry, and Kaelyn Corbett.

Kendra Headen Gaffney is married to Jeff Gaffney. Together they share six children and five dogs. When not working, Kendra loves to travel and enjoys going to the theatre. She also volunteers to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's Research.
